Your new role
The Architect is accountable for providing information architecture capability across a set of products at the Business Unit level, ensuring Tech business process strategies, technologies, projects and services are aligned to the intent of the wider enterprise and bring maximum value at the minimum practical cost.The Architect is a key role that working with the Data & Analytics team and Director, Domain Architect will contribute to next generation data strategy, technical data solutions architecture and development and implementation of new data standards. He/she will play a central role in design, build & integration of all emerging technologies and cutting-edge data and analytics solutions across data ecosystem for Vx.In this key role, you will be accountable for information knowledge and architecture across whole of the Vaccines business and will be expected to contribute to platform designs & development with a focus on delivering end-to-end information architecture through reusable framework and utilities.As a Data Solution Architect you will support the Vx Tech Director, Domain Architect in delivering Product Solution Architecture services to Vx Tech & the Vx Business with a focus on information architecture that manages the way we collect, use & share data.You will define target information architectures for the business that translate and implement Product Strategies & Roadmaps as aligned to wider strategies (e.g. Cloud Strategy) incl. collaboration with the Platforms group. - The business requirements for data quality, processing and reporting
- The strategy for data collection, management & maintenance
- The conceptual-level data design (e.g. business information models)
- Data lifecycle management, including archival, of data
What you'll need to succeed
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
- Graduate in science, engineering, computing or similar discipline or equivalent experience, with weighting on experience and proven track record preferred. Ideal candidate would have built an impressive hands-on career to date in an advanced, recognized and innovative environment.
- 3-5 years as an architect (cloud, data, etc.) with demonstrated expertise in emerging technologies and data technology platforms as well as applying this knowledge in designing, implementing and managing business process area technologies / Products
- Experience with data modeling and distributed data architecture concepts, knowledge of agile and DevOps development methodology, understanding of solution design, development, and the data life cycle: data acquisition, data quality management, data governance, and metadata management
- Experience in technology architecture of cloud-based analytics and/or big data solutions and development of such solutions in a world-class innovative company.
- Experience of the cloud data components like DataBricks, Azure DW/Synapse etc.
- Hands-on knowledge of the Big Data technologies Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Kafka, Python, Shell Scripts, among others.
- Familiarity with ETL, data pipeline development and data cleansing with large-scale, complex data-sets
- Ability to work in close partnership with other IT functions such as IT security, compliance, infrastructure, etc. as well as partner closely with business stakeholders in the commercial and digital organizations to maintain the architecture in line with legal policies
- Experienced in facilitating the design of efficient and secure procedures for data handling and analysis, with an understanding of both business and technical requirements
- Excellent written / oral communication skills with the ability to build interpersonal relationships that allow inherently complicated technical concepts to be communicated with ease to non-technical stakeholders.
- A proven ability to work within teams effectively to provide strong focus on collaboration, teamwork and delivery
- Understanding of continuous improvement and how it applies to design/architectural methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications:If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
- Product configuration experience preferably with certification in respective areas of expertise (e.g ERP/SAP Certification)
- Knowledge Graph (neo4j, GRAKN)
- Experience deploying data catalogs and master data solutions in a large enterprise
- Knowledge of external & internal best practices relevant to aligned process area & products being supported
