Data Base Administrator
This position will collaborate with a global IT team to develop and follow standards and best practices for implementing and managing database systems. This individual will all be responsible for PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server RDBMS, SSIS, OLAP (Analysis services), SQL Server Reporting services. This individual will be the primary person responsible for the Align Production database infrastructure environment.

Description
- Establishes database management systems, standards, guidelines and quality assurance for database deliverables, such as conceptual design, logical database, capacity planning, external data interface specification, data loading plan, data maintenance plan and security policy.
- Documents and communicates database design.
- Evaluates and installs database management systems.
- Participates in quality assurance and develops test application code in client server environment.
- Analyzing database performance and stability, provides recommendations in devising, defining table structures and fields on the database layer.
- Adapts business requirements, developed by modeling/development staff and systems engineers, and develops the data, database specifications, and table and element attributes for an application.
- At more experienced levels, helps to develop an understanding of client's original data and storage mechanisms.
- Determines appropriateness of data for storage and optimum storage organization.
- Determines how tables relate to each other and how fields interact within the tables for a relational model.
- Works on tasks and projects of medium and high complexity.
- Sees the connection between their work and their contribution to the success of the company.
- Makes decisions about the set goals in their area of work, as well as at the level of the division within the framework of their professional responsibilities.
- Works with the necessary level of autonomy within the framework of their education and experience, as well as their position.
- Monitors the implementation of its own work plan.
- Provides a report on the work done in accordance with internal procedures and on time.
- Timely reports any problems or errors found, and offers solutions.
- Interacts with colleagues from other departments within the project, if necessary, takes on the role of project lead.
- Acts as an expert in their professional field for their colleagues, can advise, answer questions as part of their expertise.
Profile
- BA degree in a design-related field.
- 3-4 years' experience as a DBA
- Proven experience as a DBA in a fast paced, high growth, technology and intensive environment
- Solid background in PostgreSQL (Disaster recovery, Replication, Backups, Query tuning, Table partitioning)
- Solid background in Microsoft SQL Database Administration, High Availability and Disaster Recovery, T-SQL, Query tuning and support of application design and development.
- Solid background in SQL Server BI Administration (Integration Services, Reporting Services, Analysis Services) and SharePoint services.
