Role Description

We are seeking a temporary Corporate Affairs Coordinator for Mars in the Netherlands, responsible for the development, execution and coordination of Corporate Affairs activities. This entails activities in the area of Internal Communication, External Communication and Public Affairs.

You will closely work with colleagues from Corporate Affairs (in other countries), Consumer Care, Marketing, and senior leaders. You will proactively manage Mars’s reputation as it relates to being an employer of choice, health and wellbeing and sustainability, especially sustainable chocolate production.
Your natural curiousity makes that you quickly develop in-depth knowledge of our strategies, commitments and positions of relevant stakeholders. As a result, your pro-active communication is fact based and convincing.
Thanks to your efforts, it is ensured that Mars comes across in a coordinated, aligned manner.

Responsibilities

In order to thrive in this role, you are an expert in communications and media relations. You have outstanding organisational skills and are able to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Meeting deadlines under pressure is second nature to you. You are a problem solver with attention to detail and have strong decision-making abilities.

Requirements

You need to have:
• Ability to familiarize content quickly;
• Ability to see the "bigger picture" and ability to translate strategies into communication tactics and messages;
• A talent for priority setting;
• Knowledge of/experience with both internal and external communications and media relations;
• Social media savvy;
• Comfortable working with senior management.

Nice to have:
• Higher Vocational (HBO) / Bachelor / Master Degree (WO) in journalism/communications marketing or similar;
• At least 5 years of working experience in journalism/communications, including media experience and/or experience as a spokesperson;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English.
