CNC Machine Operator

Operate & handle materials and tools in safe manner, adhering to safety procedures at all times.
Efficient Setting, basic Programming and operation of CNC and Semi NC machine
Setup and operation of Conventional (manual) lathes and milling machines.
Reads and interprets engineering blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, to determine dimensions and tolerances of the finished work piece, sequence of operations and setup requirements.
Liaising with supervision on non-conformance.
Work as part of a team based environment, contributing fully to team development and participation.


Reports to Position: Shift Foreman.

Skill Requirements:
List the skills, knowledge, and abilities that an individual must possess on the first day of the job.
Competent in the setting and operation of conventional, CNC Lathes and / or CNC machines.
Capable of basic programming on machine controls ( Fanuc; Mazatrol; Philips; Hiedenhain)
Ability to read and interpret documents such as engineering blueprints, safety instructions / manuals; maintenance instruction and procedure manuals, (Formatted in English and Imperial unit of measure)
Ability to recognize & solve work related problems.
Capable of working with minimal supervision.
Well organized and dependable.

Education, Experience, and Training:
State the education background that would provide the knowledge required for entry into the position. Describe the type of experience and training an individual should already possess to be qualified for this position.
3 to 5 years prior experience in manufacturing environment
Proven track record in previous assignments / grades that exceeded expectations.
Proven organizational and communication skills.
PC literate.
Must be responsible and should have a high degree of both physical fitness, mental fitness and intelligence.

Training Requirements:
Describe future training that will be required in order for individual to become competent in position.
Manual Handling
Initial training may be given to successful candidates to enable the fulfillment of the job requirements.
