Client Details
Our client is a major multinational production company with growing operations in Poland and all over the world. Due to continued growth of their organization, and changes in the finance structure, they are looking for an experienced candidate for the role of Chief Accountant. This individual will be fully responsible for managing the company's financial accounting operations.
Description
- Supervise and monitor the entire accounting process including general ledger, accounts payables, accounts receivables, inventory, fixed assets and cash management
- Support company MD and Finance Lead Central/Eastern Europe with ad-hoc analysis and reporting requests
- Prepare financial statements according to Polish Accounting Standards and IFRS
- Support company's compliance with all statutory guidelines and regulations
- Responsible for preparing of the tax settlement and reports (VAT, CIT) according to the tax office requirements. Ensure correctness and timely submission of tax returns, tax declarations, other information/declarations required by the law (eg. Statistical, Polish National Bank, etc).
- Liable for preparing of the Economic Zone Documents
- Report to the external financial institution such as GUS and NBP
- Prepare and consolidate the financial statements
- Work closely with consultant to be able prepare the transfer pricing documents
- Control and account reconciliation for daily basis
- Proactively work on improving accounting process and take an active role on bringing positive change into the organization
- Responsible for leading and managing full accounting operations including the supervision of a team of 10+ accountants
- Ensure a highly motivated and well-performing Finance Dept. - develop succession & development plans
- Support company's compliance with all statutory guidelines and regulations
- Monitor actual costs, sales, working capital and capex for deviations from budget and follow-up on any such deviations, propose actions to remedy
- Monthly financial reporting in Hyperion and Hyperion half-year and year-end reporting,
- Co-ordination of external audit and internal audit
Profile
- University education with accounting or finance related degree
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience as Chief Accountant in the production company
- Experience in polish and international accounting standards
- Excellent knowledge of commercial and tax laws
- Ability to prepare tax reports CIT and VAT
- Proven track record of leadership with the ability to motivate people
- Understands key business drivers and proactively seeks out opportunities and recommends solutions that can be effectively supported
- Experience with the use of information technology to effectively satisfy business needs
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in Polish and English because of constant challenge of communication e.g. outside of Poland (phone, email)
