THE COMPANY

Our client is a professional Food organization, based in Netherlands.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Equipment Installation Manager (IM) is in charge of the coordination of the equipment installation and managing all equipment suppliers and the installation teams on site. He reports to the site manager. Depending on the size of the project can be supported by a smaller or larger equipment installation team with specialists for the different disciplines (electrical, mechanical, automation, etc.).

RESPONSIBILITIES

◆ Coordinates the unloading, storage, installation, start-up, commissioning up to and including the SAT of the equipment with the equipment suppliers
◆ Supports the project SHE team on maintaining safety and SHE standards during the project and assists in setting up the project SHE plan
◆ Controls and monitors equipment suppliers’ compliance to time plan, layout, agreed specifications and requirements
◆ Manages and follows up the list of outstanding items (LOI) for new installed equipment in cooperation with the GP&E specialists, and assures involvement of brewery
◆ Prepares formal project documents like Installation Completed, Quality Achieved, O&M Handing-over, SAT protocol etc. together with GP&E specialists and suppliers
◆ Cooperates with the customer’s training responsible on the arrangement of supplier training for brewery personnel
◆ Organizes daily/weekly site meetings with equipment suppliers and joins additional meetings (e.g. safety, civil) when requested
◆ Works closely together with SM and reports/escalates deviations and problems with equipment installation and suppliers to him
◆ Supports SM in organizing lodging, local transport and site access for supplier teams (according to C&S obligation list, in cooperation with customer and supplier)
◆ Monitors the works executed by the suppliers and is responsible for checking if all conditions for releasing of payments according to contracts are met, reports this to PM
◆ Keeps track of minor and extra works of equipment suppliers via Plus/Minus lists

REQUIREMENTS

◆ Installation Management experience in food & beverages industry
◆ Installation Management experience in multiple disciplinary projects
◆ Engineering background
◆ Safety certificate (e.g. VOL-VCA, SG-SCC or equivalent)
◆ Knowledge of process equipment
◆ Knowledge of packaging equipment and materials
◆ Knowledge of utilities
◆ Knowledge of automation systems
◆ Basic knowledge of civil works
◆ Ability to judge quality of works (e.g. welding quality, etc.)
◆ Fluent in English and preferably (basic level of) local language if applicable (write/read/speak)

◆ Strong planning and coordination skills with the ability to prioritize correctly
◆ Good communication, reporting and administration skills
◆ Tough, but fair and respectful towards suppliers and customer in terms of communication and behaviour
◆ Convincing and motivating towards suppliers and customer
◆ Proactive “hands-on” mentality and thinks ahead (not only one day…)
◆ Flexible in terms of working hours (per day, start and end time), efficient and physically fit
◆ Strong capability to keep the scope fixed (especially in a brownfield project)
◆ Strong focus on safety and quality
◆ Enthusiastic, energetic, motivated, team player with respect to the local culture
◆ Result oriented, decisive, accurate and pragmatic
