For our location in Gdansk we are looking for a BI Analyst.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Participating from earliest stages of the project, designing ideas, analyzing business requirements, making the choices on the applications’ shape
- Supporting all stakeholders in defining the right questions and proper measures and helping them to understand data insights
- Working collaboratively as part of a team, cooperation with Developers, Engineers and BI Visualization Specialsts
- Actively contributing to the scrum process (stand ups, automated tests, retrospectives, etc.) and the overall output of the team
- Translate findings and analysis into insightful visualisations outlining scorecard results and key performance indicators
- Preparing recommendations that will help to develop reporting methods
- Establish functional and non-functional requirements and document them appropriately
- Support team and PO in order to write high-quality user stories
- Secure requirements traceability during smooth end-to-end development
- Model business processes to validate that solutions are fit for purpose
- Identify any Risks, Issues, Assumptions and Dependencies
- Establish effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders to gain a deep understanding of business priorities and to support the delivery of business value
- Building and maintaining good, professional relations with business and within the Data Team

- Being persistent in defining specifications. Analyst is responsible to specify requirements in detail and understand those
- Analyzing mass relational data
- Inspect the data for strange/ unusual cases
- Missing data

- Where to store different documents
- Using a clear structure in documents and mails. Highlight the important parts
- Everything is complex – Breaking it down into manageable portions
- Strong Communication Skills
- Choose a language referring to your audience
- Technical details with IT
- Translation of technical terms to business users
- Map business language to technical implementation

- Star Schema
- Normalization
- Level of granularity // primary key & business key
- Combining different data sets: Join (additional in Qlik: Keep), Union (in Qlik: Concatenate),
- Role playing dimensions
- Data Visualization (e.g. in QlikView)
- Diagrams
- Detailed Tables
Specific knowledge:
- Advanced SQL expertise for complex & huge queries
- Data Warehouse table and data model design
- Basic QlikView data modelling
- Data flow principle
