THE COMPANY

Our client is a professional Pharmaceutical organization, based in Zuid-Holland Netherlands.

They are one of the largest global producers of pharmaceutical products. Their Bacterial Vaccine Research department in Leiden focuses on research and early development of vaccines against infectious diseases.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

As an associate scientist molecular bacteriology you will work in a multidisciplinary research team that identifies, designs, produces and characterizes new vaccine candidates. Bioinformatics, molecular engineering, functional genomics, molecular microbiology, and biochemistry are key R&D activities. You will use your expertise to execute complex experiments with a high level of autonomy. Your core expertise is bacterial genetics and biochemistry which will be used to dissect and understand host-pathogen interactions.

This company is looking for candidates who are willing to commit themselves atleast 2 years to this job.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Practical realization of the research (experiments and tests) under the supervision of scientist(s)
- Documentation of experiments and results in lab notebooks
- Evaluation of results together with the supervisor (scientist / senior scientist)
- Responsible for writing SOP's/ protocols.

REQUIREMENTS

- An HBO/BSc level of education or higher
- 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience
- Full professional proficiency in English (Dutch is a plus)

OTHER

- 32 hours per week is discussable.
