Role Description

Application & Technical Support Manager Specialty Oils & Fats Southwest Europe

In this position you will focus on providing application and technical support to our Customers located in South-Western Europe (France, Italy, Spain and Portugal), to advise them on using our products in their applications, like puff pastry, chocolate coatings and fillings, creams, marinades, etc. etc..

You will become the regional go-to expert for all specialty oils & fats application questions in Bakery, Confectionery, Culinary and Nutrition. Our Customers will rely on your support and advice! We rely on you to support the qualification of our products with the customers and work in the technical community to scout for opportunities and trends, to identify needs and turn these into solutions and business. Examples of these needs are saturated fat reduction, trans fatty acid removal, clean-label, and sugar reduction, as well as productivity.

The Bunge Loders Croklaan EMEA Innovation group consists of a number of functional groups including Application & Technical Support. This function is aimed at supporting the customer and our Sales team in the successful application of our components and the pursuit and conversion of new opportunities. The department consists of eight different nationalities and has a base in 4 locations around EMEA. 

The working location for this position can be from our Head Office in Wormerveer (near Amsterdam) with frequent traveling to SW Europe, but we prefer a home office if you are based in SW Europe, with regular visits to the Wormerveer center for training and updates.

Job description

• Initialize, support and realize application projects with regional customers, for both existing and slightly adjusted components;
• Advise customers in case of new developments and improvement of existing products;
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with Sales, Marketing, R&D, QA and Operations in the context of innovation & customer projects & support activities;
• Provide technological support & trouble shooting to customers (at-line support),
• Provide presentations and demonstrations, training seminars & workshops.

Responsibilities

Your profile

• Experience: 5-10yrs in Confectionery and/or Bakery R&D; Additional experience in Culinary and/or Nutrition would be great;
• Education: Academic level in Food technology or equivalent;
• Track-record of successful delivery of R&D projects incl. implementation in full-scale production, partnerships, innovation;
• Strong customer-orientation, communicative, open
• Strongly analytical, conceptual thinker, experienced in design of experiments & statis-tical analysis;
• Strong drive for results, able to work around obstacles, entrepreneurial;pragmatic and hands-on; 
• Out-going, creative and well-organized, diligent, project management experience;
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills;
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project);
• (Near) Native Spanish, Italian, or French speaker, fluent in English; Additional language knowledge is a bonus;
• Willing to travel frequently, up to 50%.
