For our Client - international company in Gliwice (greenfield) , we are looking for Transport Supervisor.
Key responsibilities:
- Processing of dispatches including all quotations, customs preparation and documentation in accordance with legal requirements
- Supplier management to ensure performance is at a high standard and according to agreed KPIs. Ensure that all suppliers are appropriately vetted and approved. Ensure suppliers are regularly benchmarked for competitiveness and quality.
- Meet NUBNR targets (cost targets) for all freight, especially through: (managing special freight costs appropriately, Optimised vehicle utilisation, Monitoring and optimising the costs and lead-times for transportation routes)
- Ensure advance planning of shipments to customers is co-ordinated with Quality and warehouse departments to achieve on time deliveries with correct quality at all times.
- Manage and control all invoices generated as a result of transportation and liaise with finance team to ensure any outstanding issues are resolved.
- Ensure compliance standards for all duty and customs control, including documentation, correct use of tariff codes and all required licences.
- Manage and control all POR (Outward Processing Release) issues that arise from Toll coating activities.
- Responsible for the transport planning team and ensures development of staff and succession planning through regular people reviews and individualised training and development plans.
- Monitors and communicates agreed KPIs, with clear communication and escalation at early stages of any issues. Through a good understanding of the processes, propose improvement actions for all transport related issues.
We expect:
- Knowledge and understanding of import/export legislation, including duties, tariff codes and incoterms
- Degree qualified in relevant topic (e.g. Supply chain)
- +3 years’ experience in transport/shipping roles
- +1 years’ experience in leading a team
- Strong Microsoft Office (or equivalent) and SAP skills
- Negotiating and managing performance of transport suppliers
- Ability to take initiative and drive processes to completion and identify improvement opportunities
- Fluent level of written and spoken Polish and English
