Description

Currently, we are looking for a Production Support Specialist who will carry out a project for our Client – one of the largest banking and financial services organizations in the world, providing a comprehensive range of financial services to around 60 million customers.

Main tasks

  • Provide full scope of Level 2 and 3 Production Support service including resolution of live incidents as well as post-resolution problem management activities (Incident Management, Service Improvement Plans), Critically reviewing change and release activity for service impact
  • Investigate system faults, diagnose problems, distinguish environment problems from the code ones, propose and provide solutions; Provide technical expertise in 
    finding root cause of major system problems
  • Detect, analyze and resolve problems associated with servers, networks and applications
  • Implementation of local developed solutions (i.e. Shell Scripting, DB procedures, etc…)
  • Supporting new entity releases by preforming spot checks /health checks for existing live entities
  • Escalating and involving Service Management for any major /critical /long running issues
  • Contributing to service transition and acceptance of new entities
  • Perform daily checks and monitoring as per requirements
  • Highlight problems/blockages and take initiative to suggest ideas to change and improve processes
  • Assist site management in providing solutions for new initiatives/business & revenue improvements
  • Analysing our existing solution delivery process to identify opportunities for improvement using automation and new technologies
  • Adhering to all service level agreements and metric requirements at all times
  • Strong emphasis on the maintenance of an effective and rigid control environment ensuring quality is never compromised
  • Expected to develop a strong working relationship with the business users and management in all supported sites, project, implementation, analyst and deployment teams

Requirements

  • Experience of supporting customer facing web IT applications (preferably Java based)
  • Elementary knowledge of any programing language
  • Knowledge of Linux, SQL, Bash shell, MQ and Web application servers architecture
  • Strong command of English and confident communication
  • Good decision making and analytical skills
  • Strong team player with good interpersonal skills
  • Must be flexible and open minded – due to the nature of support work, each day is different and workers must be willing to adapt and change to the changing situations
  • Availability to work in different shifts, or be “on call” duty, to support a ‘follow the sun’ model if required
