To provide Tax compliance services across the Group
Accountabilities:
-To support the Head of Tax Compliance to ensure all legal tax obligations are met and monitor variances and identify areas of risk
- Preparing/reviewing tax returns (direct and indirect) and reconciliations. Calculating tax liabilities and payments due
- Technical tax accounting support for the team
- Assist in managing any specific direct and indirect tax obligations in country including support for dealing with any overseas tax authority audit or enquiry with the ability to travel where necessary
- Assistance with monthly, quarterly and yearly reconciliations for tax reporting
- Support/cover for team members
Required Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
- Excellent analytical skills to support, for example relevant tax claims
- Basic knowledge of European VAT law
- Ability to prioritise and effectively manage workload commitments
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with ability to engage with and influence internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work alone and without supervision and to integrate as part of a team as necessary, to work effectively in cross functional groups to achieve tax risk management and compliance objectives.
- Good MS Excel skills as well as use of IT systems and other applications
- Minimum 1 year of accounting/auditing experience with professional services firm, shared service centre or Tax authority
- Preferred experience of IFRS and local GAAP
- Experience of working in an environment of change involving people, process, policy and technology
- Experience of working in a fast-paced, complex global organisation with finite resources
- Accountant or other relevant finance qualification
