ROLE DESCRIPTION
For some of my clients, successful multinationals in vegetable seeds, I´m currently looking for experienced Vegetable Breeders. My clients offer exciting opportunities to pursue a career in the worlds market leaders in vegetable breeding/genetics. Extensive (biotechnology) resources to set up and successfully complete breeding projects are at your disposal and the best specialist teams to manage, a great opportunity for an experienced breeder. Growth opportunities to (crop) management positions are indeed present. Furthermore: a very interesting salary package with outstanding secondary benefits are offered, my client is open to consider candidates from all EU countries and Switzerland.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Setting up the Vegetable Breeding program for my client
- Using facilities and resources to successfully guide the breeding projects
- Work closely with fellow Vegetable breeders as well as internal/external specialists in various other domains (e.g. marker assisted breeding, bioinformatics) Research and report on competitive Tomato/pepper and Melon varieties aimed at supplying to market segments
Making sure an innovative stream of registered and competitive varieties of seeds is established
REQUIREMENTS
- PhD in Plant Breeding or related field
- Deep knowledge of and extensive experience in classical vegetable breeding
- Proven interest in genetics and marker assisted breeding
- Creative, driven, ambitious, result driven
- Strong people management and leadership skills
- Strategic vision and business minded
