As a Senior SAP BI functional consultant you will play the key role of understanding our business needs as well as our data.
With your technological background and functional mindset you are able to transform ideas into solutions and report designs that provide easily consumable insight. Although the developments are done by a separate offshore team your insight and pragmatism ensures that they are handled in a correct manner, always keeping the business goal in mind.

A typical day might require you to:
- Have a brainstorm together with key business users to come up with new ideas to get knowledge out of our data
- Translate those ideas into report designs or proof of concepts, thinking carefully about the most effective way to visualize the information
- Discuss in depth the designs/solutions with the development team in India and using your technical background ensure that the recommended solutions align and comply with the target BI and IT architecture and vision
- Pitch some of your ideas to your teammates in Amsterdam and process their feedback
- Review the latest development plans, challenge the provided estimates where needed and ensure that everything is prioritized according to business value
- Execute a previously written test plan and organize a business testing session for next week
- Sit down with your colleagues and help them to ensure that their suggested solutions are scalable, sustainable and using the right tool for the job
- Finish up on some documentation about last week´s GO live
Requirements:
This job might be for you if:
- You have five years of experience of maintenance and/or design in SAP BW. Knowledge of HANA and BO gets you bonus points
- Proven project experience in the BI, data warehousing, and data analytics area for both conceptual and design, as well as actual project implementation required.
- Strong hands-on experience with data modeling, information modeling, SAP BI products and SQL required.
- You can take a step back and look at the bigger picture, but also dive in and get to the bottom of a problem
- It doesn´t matter to you whether you are speaking to a SAP BW developer or a marketing manager, you can explain just about anything to anyone
- You’ve mastered the English language
- You´re OK to hop on a plane and visit some of your European colleagues
- You realize that dynamic, self-motivated and goal-oriented are buzz words that couldn´t be left out, but also know that in the end being able to provide a simple and effective solution is just as important
