Job specification:
- Design and implement server-side features in company's analytics modeling platform
- Develop and improve supervised and unsupervised learning algorithms
- Integrate with 3rd party machine learning libraries
- Design and implement innovative applications of machine learning and data science to help create better detection scenarios
- Develop familiarity with the existing application and code base quickly and efficiently
- Actively participate in technical design workshops and produce technical specification documents as requested
- Assume development responsibility for developing, debugging and unit testing of product features in accordance with internal procedures and standards
- Diagnose and solve functional and performance/scalability issues
- Work effectively with QA to resolve open product issues
- Improve practices and design principles within the team
- Work as part of an agile development team
- Work with our Professional Services teams and customers on an as-needed basis to assist with building of predictive models; including data analysis activities for quality and noise metrics as well as evaluating modeling results using statistical techniques
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Previous commercial development experience
- Previous experience in data modeling
- Strong knowledge of Java
- Database and SQL development experience
- Experience coding machine learning algorithms and techniques using platforms such as R, Java, Matlab, Octave
- or Python (could either be professionally or through self-learning)
- Experience of standards-based development using version control software (Subversion or Git) and IDEs such as IntelliJ or Eclipse
- Proven track record of technical design and development ability as part of a team
