Amazon plans to open two new sites in Poland. These sites will help Amazon handle current and future customer demand and ensure that Amazon customers everywhere enjoy the fast and reliable return handling they are accustomed to.
We are looking for a Health and Safety Manager (m/f)
to lead the team based at our new Fulfillment Center (FC) in Bielany Wrocławskie, close to Wrocław.
- The Safety Manager resides in an Amazon Fulfillment Center (FC) and is responsible for all safety functions at their respective FC.
- Ensure compliance to Polish law as it applies to Life Safety in a Fulfillment Center environment
- Ensure compliance to safety programs such as Lockout-Tagout, Fall Protection, Fire Prevention, Emergency Procedures and Evacuation and other such programs
- Develop and implement training programs to meet the needs of managers and associates in regards to critical safety issues
- Develop and maintain ergonomics programs where needed
- Maintain required paperwork to comply with Polish law
- Analyze accident data and build prevention programs to impact accident trends
- Build management and employee commitment for a safety program through influence not authority
- Create a Culture of Safety in the FC
- Analyze new process, machinery for potential safety concerns
- Review Standard Operating Procedure changes and make safety recommendations
- Conduct Job Hazard Analysis and Job Safety Analysis
- Interact with Workers Compensation third-party administrators in carrying out claims management
- Develop a positive working relationship with local Fire Department and other local authorities as needed
- Manage consistent and disciplined incident investigation and reporting
- Weekly metrics reporting to management teams
- Applying Lean tools to Safety: error-proof processes, analyze safety trends and create proactive plans to address key risks, use Pareto analysis and other tools to monitor and drive high-effectiveness Safety programs
Basic Qualifications
- University degree (preferably in a business or safety related area) or equivalent work experience
- Trained specialist for industrial safety
- Initial work experience in safety
- Experience in managing and developing a team is a bonus
- Strong communication skills, leadership, teamwork, analysis, judgment and customer focus
- Fluent in Polish and English
- Retail-Distribution Center Safety knowledge experience is a plus
