Our client is a professional Agriculture and Food organization, based in Niederösterreich Austria.

The company is a well-known organization in the potato sector.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

AS RAW Sourcing Area Manager you are responbile for the purchasing of midsize potatoes for total sourcing area including negotiations on price, timing volumes and quality. As member of the RAW Purchase Management team you will translate the RAW Strategy and contract plan into action and daily execution. As well as optimization of the relevant purchase and logistic processes. You invest in relationships with local potato growers suppliers in its region. You are responsible for all purchasing activities (contracting) in this area, including negotiations on price, timing and volumes up-to final settlement

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Purchasing of midsize potatoes for total sourcing area including negotiations on price, timing volumes and quality
- Purchasing of Flake potatoes for sourcing area including negotiations on price, timing volumes and quality.
- Responsible for direct connection of all RAW potatoes delivered into one of the plant locations.
- Purchasing of different raw potato varieties secured by annual and daily contracts as well as guiding, monitoring and advising growers during the cultivation, storing and delivery of the potatoes.
- Build sustainable relationships with our key potato suppliers.
- Responsible for building and maintaining contact with the growers and suppliers in its region.
- Lead or participate in projects within RAW or company wide projects
- Sales of seed potatoes to the contract growers to secure quality and availability of the delivered potatoes.

REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Agriculture,Soil Science or similar background
- Advanced knowledge of the agriculture developments specific for potato growing and handling.
- 5 years related experience in agricultural companies on middle management level and trade activities.
- Excellent knowledge of relevant quality and food safety standards and regulations
- An in depth knowledge and understanding of Supply Chain operations
- Good communication skills – at least written and verbal English and local language.
- Good analytical skills
- Initiative, persistence, drive and desire to perform and exceed expectations
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
- Self starter that likes multiple responsibilities
