THE COMPANY
Our client is a professional Food organization, based in Antwerpen Belgium.
The company is specialised in the design, development and manufacturing of packaging for the food industry.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
In this role the combination between your commercial and technical skills is very important. You will be in the lead of the project from the conceptual design phase till the execution phase, and have to communicate with all the involved stakeholders, on different levels.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the translation of customers’ needs and wishes into a clear briefing and to manage these development projects from beginning to end
- Providing and supporting Sales with technical expertise concerning packaging material and contributing in presentations to customers
- Leading and supporting packaging projects with focus on quality, new technologies, sustainability, light weight products, efficiency and cost optimization
- Coordination of packaging solutions in close collaboration with customers and setting up requirements in line with expectations
- Monitoring and identifying new trends en developments within packaging and translate them into product development
- Timely identifying and monitoring trends and developments in the industry and translate them into innovative recipes
- Working closely together with the teams of Engineering, Design, Sales, Quality, Operations, Procurement and Marketing
- Reporting to the Director Product Development.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Technology, Product Development with additional education or experience in packaging
- Relevant working experience in packaging development and packaging engineering within the food industry
- Technical knowledge of packaging materials, preferably experience with thermoforming, injection molding, plastic materials
- Strong project manager with experience in leading cross functional teams within set targets and time frames
- Excellent verbal en written communication skills in English and preferable in Dutch
- Willingness to travel short trips worldwide
