We are looking for Mid to Senior level PHP Web Application Developers to join our team on a full time contract. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in rapidly creating scalable web applications with PHP, don't get scared off by new technologies like MongoDB or node.js and should know his way around jQuery, CSS and of course conform HTML. Maybe you even like Coffeescript with Mocha and some LESS.
Mawelous does not work for clients, we make up our own startups and get seed funded by partners in the United States who aim to sell the startup after release. This brings a lot of challenges, which can be solved the way we want to and with whatever technology we determine fits best.

Unlike traditional development shops, Mawelous does not accept product requirements and crank out code. We take active ownership of the product. Our process begins with product strategy, user stories, user experience testing, and interviews. Technical skills:
• 3+ years experience with OOP in PHP is a must
• 3+ years experience with SQL Databases (or NoSQL)
• 3+ years with Javascript, jQuery, AJAX is a huge plus
• 1+ year with MVC frameworks (Zend, Laravel, CI, Kohana)
• Basic understanding of HTML/XHTML, CSS, SEO/SEM
• Basic understanding of GIT/SVN
• Experience in implementing mature software development practices
Professional skills:
• Be able to take a product idea and the responsibility for the end-to-end process of building it - from the planing to the finished product
• A 'Lean' type approach to the rapid build, measure, learn loop
• A strong ability to do simple effective graphical and functional designs for your prototypes (Twitter Bootstrap for example)
• You have incredible initiative and self-drive - often you will just get a concept and need to execute it from idea to delivery
• You are very commercially minded, with a strong sense of what makes a good user experience and what would monetize best
• You have a great sense of humor, are ambitious, and love the thrill and madness of working in a fast paced environment
• You simply love what you do!
Bonus Points:
• Experience in mentoring junior team-members
• Experience with Amazon Web Services or Rackspace Cloud, etc.
• Experience with Apache or Nginx, MySQL and/or MongoDB administration, installation and maintenance
• Experience with PHP installation and maintenance
• Experience with Android and/or iOS Development
