Our client is a professional Food organization, based in Friesland Netherlands.

ROLE DESCRIPTION
As a packaging engineer you’ll be in charge of optimal fit of existing and newly produced packaging solutions to all machines and production lines. The packaging engineer reports directly to the Operations Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and partake in multidisciplinary project teams guarding budget, efficiency and maximising product quality.
- Analyse process data for new proposals
- Write packaging specifications
- Keep up with market trends and developments
- Build and keep up strong relationships with suppliers
- Support and train operators in project improvement following PDCA method
- Co-work in multidisciplinary teams with Production, Engineering, Quality and Planning
- Determine wants and needs of clients concerning packaging materials, design and producibility
REQUIREMENTS
- BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering or Food Technology or other relevant field of engineering.
- 2+ years of relevant experience in comparable position in the field of packaging development in a food environment.
- Certain knowledge of Lean, TPM, Six Sigma
- Demonstrable experience with project management and the ability to juggle several projects at once.
- Strong communicator; Fluent in Dutch and English (German would be a plus)
