For one of our Clients, an US-based large company, planning to open its Competence Center in Tricity Randstad Technologies are looking for a Network Engineer. The Network Engineer is part of the European IT Infrastructure team mainly situated in Amsterdam. He/she is responsible for designing, managing and administering the European wide Area networks and Local networks throughout Europe. He She also provides 3rd line support for other network related infrastructure issues.
He/she will participate actively in European Infrastructure projects and be involved in network integration initiatives and location moves.

Critical results:
- Maintain and standardise the network infrastructure to ensure a stable environment.
- Resolve 3rd line support Incident tickets within SLA.
- Support the network integration projects
- Deliver ad-hoc Infrastructure projects, e.g. line upgrades, switch replacements, etc.
Responsibilities:
Responsibility 1 (75 % of time):
- WAN/LAN design and implementation together with Global infrastructure team
- Design and implement WLAN networks
- Primarily responsible for system designs, future network, root cause elimination and capacity planning of corporate and enterprise data center infrastructure
- Configure WAN routers and LAN switches
- Maintain of DNS services (Infoblox/Microsoft)
- Maintaining of network monitoring/management tools, including, but not limited to Orion, NCM, Tacacs
- Periodic travel to Project sites within the EU
Responsibility 2 (25 % of time):
- Incident management tasks
- Application analysis, as it pertains to performance with network electronics
- Troubleshoot WAN routers and LAN switches
- Be part of an on call team
- Communicate with 3rd party network suppliers and US
- Deliver ad-hoc Infrastructure projects and support the ongoing integration initiatives. Work as part of a team and also work independently to deliver within specified timelines.
Requirements:
- Experience on large-scale network infrastructure projects supporting end-to-end connectivity
- Several years experience, including Cisco and Nortel
- Extensive experience with global environments
- Knowledge of TCP/IP network services, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, HSRP
- Experience with security technologies, such as firewalls, VPN’s, Radius, WLAN’s
- Experience with Cisco IP Telephony desired, but not required
- Proficient knowledge of project management methodologies and or leading large technical projects
- Proficiency with Microsoft Visio desired
- Knowledge administration and troubleshooting:
- Willing to travel
