For our international Client, who providing professional engineering services to various industrial sectors including Offshore and Oil & Gas, we are looking for an experienced Material Manager.
Person on this position will perform, at the Warehouse of assignment, the business of receiving, customs clearance, handling, storage and distribution of materials and production equipment according to the requirements of the Project and of internal customers. As a Material Manager you will attend the initial project meeting sharing the philosophy and strategies of transportation, logistics and packaging of the goods in supply to be received in the warehouse, check materials received to site, verifying their compliance in terms of quantity and characteristics, in accordance with the requirements and in order to the design specifications, manage the physical transfer of materials from the main warehouse to the project warehouse and the subsequent delivery to the production/construction department. You will carry out the receipt and where appropriate, inform the service management of any non-supplied conformity of the products, search for the completeness of the documentation and certification that accompany the material received compared to what is required in order and in accordance with the project specifications. You will coordinate with the office of transportation and customs providing all the information necessary for the planning of shipments, for the issuance of all necessary shipping documents and the completion of all customs formalities necessary to send the materials in destination countries. In collaboration with the HSE you will constantly update the list of products in the warehouse and the relevant binder of the safety material, data sheets and promptly report to the HSE the deficiencies of the work means, equipment (PPE included) and any other dangerous condition that occurs during work, of which employees should become aware.
The ideal candidate should have technical background, with a preference for a diploma Mechanical Engineering, and at least 5 years of overall experience of similar positions as Material Manager. Fluent English is a must. Beside that you should have relational flexibility in approaching various contact persons, both internal (like work colleagues) and external (Client, suppliers, local institutions). The candidate should also have a confident and positive attitude, ability to work under pressure, meet targets and a professional manner and the ability to work in a team. Offshore experience shall be strongly preferred.
