Your role

We are currently looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join Philips Home Operations located in Pila.

The essence of your role is to validate, specify and develop components being part of lighting solutions in compliance with all requirements, norms and standards.

 

Your team

You will be part of the manufacturing team and will interact and work closely with new product introduction group. You will also work in multi-disciplinary and multi-site project teams. You will report to Manufacturing Manager of Philips Home Operations Pila.

Team in Pila is focusing on industrialization and production Home Lighting Solutions – Consumer Luminaires, Home Systems and Modular products. The team is strong in manufacturing LED powered products and is rapidly strengthening its capabilities in delivering intelligent lighting systems.

 

Your responsibilities

  • Review the mechanical requirements for products, modules and components to be developed and give feedback regarding feasibility
  • Develop mechanical concepts in line with the requirements and safeguard the functionality, performance, costs, quality, reliability, safety and produce-ability of products, modules and components, using techniques like DfA, Value Engineering or FMEA
  • Ensure re-use of components where possible
  • Documented technical specifications into a complete Technical Product Documentation and support the release of components, modules of the total product
  • Ensure consistency of mechanical and electrical solutions within and if possible beyond application clusters (standardization and rationalization of technical solutions)
  • Contribute to improvement of the existing product portfolio
  • Continuously improve the day to day processes and ways of working

 

We are looking for

  • Higher technical education, preferably in Engineering or Electronic
  • Fluent English
  • Practical knowledge of CAD systems
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience
  • Experienced in the development of components manufactured with different technologies
  • Strong communication and leadership skills and feel comfortable to work in multi-site, multi-functional teams
  • Team player, strong commitment and a high level of initiative
