Linux/Unix Administrator
Location: KatowiceWhat will you make with IBM?
- install the server operating system, system management software and operating system utilities;
- support the server operating system, system management software and operating system utilities, including upgrades;
- manage the operating system configuration;
- manage file systems and print queues;
- monitor and maintain operating system log files;
- recommend operating system updates and configuration modification;
- apply operating system patches as required;
- maintain tools for remote management and alert monitoring;
- maintain the hardware and software configuration server information;
- manage System ID’s and domain structure
Requirements:
- Unix/Linux skills supported by at least 2 years experience
- working in a production environment is appreciated;
- knowledge in one of the following technologies:
I. Linux
- knowledge of RHEL/SUSE;
- Linux LVM;
- cluster solutions (Linux heartbeat, RHCS);
- VMWare ESX is a plus.
II. AIX
- knowledge of AIX 5.3/6.1/7.1;
- virtualization: LPARs, WPARs, Virtual I/O Server, HMC;
- AIX Logical Volume Manager;
- PowerHA 5.x, 6.1.
III. Solaris
- knowledge of OS Solaris 9,10;
- virtualization: Zone/Containers, LDOMs;
- Solaris Volume Manager/Veritas Volume Manager;
- cluster solutions (SUN Cluster/Veritas Cluster Server)
