Linux System Administrator

We need a Linux System Administrator to administer a server on an ongoing basis. Server is a web server, running CentOS 6, Parallels Plesk panel 10.4, Wordpress, Java mobile services, and PHP+MySQL.

Once you have automated the processes, there should be very little effort/time required - for occasional tasks, and this is not expected to be a daily work/effort. You will be expected to know how to perform disaster recovery / server recovery.

• Need to automate backups to second server
• Need to facilitate rapid restore, in event of hacking or outage
• Need to keep patches and service packs up to date
• Need to keep firewall blacklist up to date
• Need to optimize server configurations, Apache configurations, PHP configurations, MySQL, Java and other services for best performance
• Need to respond to potential and in-process alerts/threats, and will make all reasonable efforts to prevent or minimize damage and/or data loss.
• Need to receive and process all chron daemons, server alert messages, updates/alerts from hosting company, and react when necessary.

Over the next few months, we would increase the project scope to include additional servers, and can negotiate higher fee at that time.

The english language knowledge to communicate by phone or email is REQUIRED. You will have to work remotely in differnet hours during the week.
