Our client is a professional Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical organization, based in Antwerpen Belgium.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

The purchaser will be responsible for buying packaging materials and acts as first Point Of Contact (POC) for Suppliers delivering to the plant.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Manages Supplier Relationship
- Acts a first POC towards the Suppliers
- Has periodic meetings with the Supplier to discuss different topics and maintain a good relationship
- Creates vendor contracts in SAP
- Aligns with Global Sourcing on the content of commercial agreements and translates this info into SAP contracts
- Connects with finance in order to set up the correct price
- Creates demand visibility towards Suppliers
- Sends out purchase orders to suppliers after release of purchase requisitions by planning
- Sends out forecasts to Suppliers
- Manages component & supplier related parameters in SAP
- Lead time/ Minimum order quantity /Safety stock/ Vendor data, …
- Follows up on payments to Suppliers
- Solves price mismatches and works in close relationship with Accounts Payable
- Acts as financial Gatekeeper (direct materials)
- Supports product launches & transfers with impact on material availability
- Manages Supplier reliability
- Follows up on “in time” & “in quality” deliveries
- Takes ownership of issues and negotiates solutions with Suppliers
- Facilitates meetings with Suppliers and Internal Stakeholders
- Trends the performance of Suppliers and defines short/long term actions where needed
- Escalates to the Global Procurement team and defines the solution strategy together
- Participates to Partner Development exercises with Suppliers
- Initiates, implements and follows up on component related changes in close collaboration with other departments
- Initiates and collaborates to process- and cost improvement projects
- Analyses data and recognizes bottlenecks

REQUIREMENTS

- +5 Years relevant experience in Procurement or Supply Chain
- Thorough understanding of ERP systems, preferably SAP
- Experience with Microsoft office tools (word, excel, outlook,..)
- Experience with GMP is a plus
