ROLE DESCRIPTION

The NPI Planner / Buyer (Senior role) will ultimately be responsible for leading and executing all activities related to the introduction, planning and procurement of raw materials and operational supplies needed for clinical and commercial New Product Introductions (NPI) at the API manufacturing site ensuring timely availability of the right quantity of materials. This will be done in close collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders, such as Material Sciences for identifying NPI material requirements, Global Procurement for sourcing new materials, Quality functions for material- and supplier qualification, testing and release as well as external suppliers located across the world. In addition, the NPI Planner / Buyer (Senior role) will be responsible for expanding the Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) process to include all laboratory chemicals and supplies in collaboration with a preferred supplier and Quality customers while maintaining or improving replenishment service level and development of metrics for VMI performance measurement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Execute the development, maintenance, communication and publication of the Materials Requirements Plans (MRP) to ensure that patient / customer requirements are met. Maintain Raw Materials and Components inventories within our goal, while minimizing excess, obsolete and expired materials. Contribute to the global balancing of Materials and Components within Global Planning, ensuring efficient and effective procurement & inventory practices and optimizing the balance between quality, service, reliability and cost. Ensure that all material delivery schedules are communicated to the suppliers on time in order to meet NPI plan requirements.
- Leading NPI sub team ultimately responsible for timely availability of raw materials and operational supplies needed for clinical and commercial NPI’s per Flawless Project Execution (FPX) methodology.
- Accountable for governance of identification, creation and qualification of new materials required for clinical and commercial NPI’s, including Bill of Materials (BOMs) to be created in SAP Sustain.
- Responsible for resolving any Received Order Problems (ROP’s) and possible payment mismatches related to NPI materials ordered.
- Responsible for Material Requirements Planning of laboratory lab chemicals and supplies.
- In partnership with preferred supplier, further extend existing VMI process.
- Liaises with the suppliers to clarify potential plan constraints and interfaces between supplier and the key internal stakeholders to ensure issue resolution.
- Partner with Global Procurement to drive Supplier performance improvement including quality and on-time delivery in line with MPS.
- Communicate where required into the Supply Review Meetings (SRM) and Short Term Exception Management (STEM) processes at both Site and Platform Level.
- In partnership with Source, tracks and reports site / platform level supplier service performance, communicating the information to the relevant parties.
- Interfaces with Quality and Warehouse staff regarding rejected / defective materials, making the necessary physical arrangements with the supplier to ensure a prompt return of goods or disposal.
- Executes potential deviations to the plan assessing with the suppliers the feasibility of the changes, rapidly highlighting to the affected internal stakeholders if the changes are not possible.
- Liaises with warehouse staff to understand and adhere to space constraints, managing inventory levels within agreed targets.
- Support the RCCP/ S&OP processes for material and component suppliers.
- Effectively partner with all internal and external business partners.
- Focuses and encourages continuous improvements (CI) of the process supported.
- Supports material and component Phase in and Phase Out processes.

REQUIREMENTS

Education:
• Minimum Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain Management or other related Business discipline is essential
• Supply Chain Certification is preferred e.g. APICS.
• Lean Certification is desirable.

Experience:
• Practical experience with ERP is required, preferably SAP.
• Experience in GMP and/or Pharma environment required.
• Experience in Planning/Purchasing in a multi-national environment.
• Experience with Flawless Project Execution (FPX) and/or other Project Management methodology preferable.
• Experience in Planning highly preferable
• Experience in a multi-national environment preferable

Knowledge, Skills and capabilities:
• Must be able to handle challenging and difficult situations.
• Act as core team member able to co-ordinate of “NPI Raw Material readiness team” who form a critical part of our NPI clinical production.
• Lead cross-functional teams

• English required, Dutch is a plus
