Our client is a professional Pharmaceutical organization, based in Noord-Holland Netherlands.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

Manage indirect procurement spend across the EMEA region.
This position will identify savings opportunities, develop sourcing strategies for materials and services, execute and implement these strategies and drive compliance. Supplier relationship management and building and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders are vital components of the job, therefore - aside from sourcing expertise and ability to deliver savings and other value - proven record of these is one of the key criteria for candidate selection.
This position will be responsible for management of indirect spend across all functions in EMEA.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Develop solid understanding of the indirect expenditure across EMEA, legacy and level of procurement maturity for each category.
- Develop and maintain opportunity analysis for all indirect categories, and design plan for addressing these (sourcing strategies), based on value to the business, feasibility and TCO.
- Through collaboration and influence start managing categories where Procurement may not have been historically involved.
- Partner with country-based procurement teams in across the region and other functional teams currently managing spend, to enhance local insight and alignment on the approach, and facilitate strategy implementation.
- Execute strategies as planned and lead implementation process, ensuring realization of assumed benefits. Review, assess and negotiate agreements.
- Generate savings from price reduction, but also other cost improvements (example: process re engineering) and track progression of savings assumed vs. actual.
- Effectively manage relationship with suppliers in line with category strategies. May co-manage relationships with global vendors through liaison with Procurement resources outside EMEA.
- Actively contribute to the development of Procurement function in EMEA, through improvement and mapping of processes, development of tools and implementation of best practices, efficient knowledge sharing and management. May mentor, train and coach others.

REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelors Degree in Business, Engineering or related field is a minimum.
- Member of CIPS or equivalent advantageous.

- 7+ years in strategic sourcing management in large multinationals, with responsibility for indirects goods and services. Minimum 2 years sourcing in a European role with proven experience in at least three of the following categories: IT, Fleet, Travel, Professional Services, Marketing, Packaging, including solid understanding of category dynamics, cost models and the European supply market.
- Proven experience in design and execution of robust and comprehensive category strategies, delivering strong results in cost reduction and process optimization.
- Track record working independently, in fast moving organization, matrix structures. Successfully worked at all levels of organization, including senior management.
- Successful record in initiating and driving change - both with processes and behavior, influencing stakeholders, peers and suppliers.
- Strong project management practice, with multiple stakeholders - leading larger, diverse, geographically dispersed teams. Animating broader community and aligning around common goal.
- Proficiency in supplier relationship management, practical knowledge of concepts and practices.
- Strong experience in using Procurement Excellence tools. Experience in implementation is a plus.
- Experience, including building and re-engineering of processes and tools.
- Fluent in English, other European languages a plus.
- Proficient in SAP, and MS Office.
