GL Lead Accountant (Wiodący Księgowy ds. Księgi Głównej) - język niemiecki

For our client, leading international company, we are currently looking for GL Lead Accountant (with German language).

The person holding this position will undertake General Ledger Accounting, Fixed Asset and Cash Management reporting for an assigned European market, operate as the first line point of escalation and to resolve issues and queries.

Key responsibilities:

• ensure the accurate and timely completion of general ledger journals and balance sheet reconciliations

• respond to identified issues, queries and needs, which have been escalated due to non-resolution, or where resolution is urgent and important

• handle exception processing for G L issues in an efficient and timely manner

• ensure General Ledger period end closing procedures are completed efficiently, accurately and timely

• ensure accurate and timely completion of fixed asset reporting and maintenance of the fixed asset register

• ensure accurate and timely completion of the daily cash position and the weekly cash flow forecast

• supply advice on GL processes and support continuous improvement initiatives and ad hoc projects

• make productive use of technology tools and systems, including SAP, case management and workflow to ensure effective service delivery and accurate data management

• provide support to other team members and if requested deputize for GL Team Leader

• working to agreed KPI’s and service levels

• ensure compliance with company policies, relevant accounting and tax requirements and internal controls (SOX)

• university degree
• minimum of 3 years accounting and/or controlling experience, preferably preferably in multinational organisation and/or SSC
• good English and good German.
• good understanding of specific GL area processes
• ability to review and interpret financial data
• ability to address complex issues within the GL area
• good ERP experience essential, preferably SAP
• good communication and interpersonal skills
• strong customer service skills
