The MongoDB, SQL Server Database Administrator is responsible for recommending, implementing and supporting current and new MongoDB, SQL Server DB technologies.This role requires good communication skills, both with team members and business contacts. In addition, the successful Database Administrator must be able to work with minimal supervision on multiple concurrent projects.

Description

  • Manage multi - node MongoDB clusters on public cloud environment.
  • Manage MongoDB ATLAS
  • MongoDB backup and restores using S3 backups.
  • MongoDB security management using OpsManager.
  • MongoDB version upgrades.
  • Diagnose and Resolve problems around database performance, capacity, replication, T-SQL, SQL AlwaysON, etc.
  • Proactively monitor databases for errors and respond quickly and effectively to troubleshoot and resolve DB on-going issues
  • Performs advanced database administration activities including but not limited to; DB Performance Tuning, T-SQL tuning, Backup and recovery and DB disaster recovery solutions.
  • Ability to analyze existing systems and make recommendations on which technology best suits the business requirement for high availability, Disaster Recovery or high performance.
  • Work independently to design or participate in functional/performance tests.
  • Create/update database documentation about standard procedures, DB technology features, or production issue troubleshooting.
  • Stay current with changes in the technical area of expertise.
  • Design and implement highly available production systems using the following technologies: Database Mirroring, Windows clustering and SQL AlwaysON, availability groups.
  • Review scripts submitted by the Development team for performance and standard adherence.
  • Work with development teams to deploy code in production when needed.
  • Experience in all aspects of SDLC such as requirement analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, deployment & maintenance of Projects.
  • Experience in Power shell scripting.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, other technical field, or equivalent work experience
  • 5 years of experience in MongoDB administration
  • Knowledge on postgre, mysql in the following areas of database setup in Linux environment, backup/restore, monitoring, performance tuning, enabling LDAP/Kerbros for database security, HA setup (Master-Slave), setup Alerting
