Role description

With state-of-the-art technology such as fractionation, interesterification, emulsification, IOI Loders Croklaan is well positioned to deliver unique functionality and value to the end product. The IOI Loders Croklaan Europe Innovation department consists of a number of Segment Innovation and other functional groups. The department is based in Wormerveer (Netherlands, approximately 20 km north from Amsterdam), and led by the Director of Innovation. To support our growth ambition and the extending business, we have created the vacancy of Customer Innovation Manager in the segment Confectionery.

Responsibilities

• To develop and maintain value propositions (product advantage in final application);
• Initialize, support and realize application projects with (international) customers;
• To develop and use application models that represent customer processes and final applications as broadly as possible to be widely applicable and as specific as needed to prove product advantage;
• Advise customers in case of new developments and improvement of existing products;
• To develop and use application methods to prove product advantage;
• Develop new applications in close cooperation with partners;
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with Sales, Marketing, R&D, QA and Operations department in the context of innovation & customer projects & support activities;
• Responsible for technological support & trouble shooting at customers, presentations and demonstrations.

Requirements

• Experience: >5 years in food R&D confectionery;
• Education: Academic level in Food technology or equivalent; PhD preferred;
• Strongly independent, analytical, taking initiative;
• Expertise in Food Application and/or Product Development/Formulation;
• Track record of successful delivery of R&D projects, partnerships, innovation;
• Strongly analytical, conceptual thinker, diligent, communicative, open;
• Experienced in design of experiments & statistical analysis;
• Strong drive for results, able to work around obstacles;
• Pragmatic and hands-on;
• Out-going, entrepreneurial, creative and well-organized, project management experience;
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills; 
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project); 
• Willing to travel frequently
