Job Purpose Statement:
Implements defined Clearance and Brokerage learning initiatives that support the business in achieving a skilled and empowered workforce. Focuses learning on the skills, knowledge and behaviours required to achieve accurate, timely and compliant services and solutions, coupled with consistently high standards of Customer care. Supports continuous improvement by participating in the evaluation of training needs and development of new materials/tools to improve CE, quality, productivity, and compliance. All training initiatives need to be approved by L&D in order to ensure consistency and cohesiveness of content. NB Does not make decisions or relay information that impacts employee selection, performance management or disciplinary processes.

Job Size:
Corporate/EMEA/local expectations relating to programs, standards and delivers technical training (eg systems, customs procedures, regulatory compliance) and less complex soft skills training (eg self organisation) - requires certification and/or agreement from approved L&D contact prior to delivery of each module - To maintain training documentation as per ISO requirements

Key Accountabilities:
Business Knowledge - Develops understanding of the FedEx business (CE strategy, clearance and brokerage solutions including systems processes etc) and business environment (customs and trade regulations, service industry etc) within EMEA, together with country specific requirements. Includes developing/maintaining a detailed knowledge of Clearance and Brokerage roles (responsibilities, systems, end to end processes, expectations, and challenges etc) and inter-dependencies with other functions (CE, Ops, CFS, CT) through regular performance of the job. Develops/maintains knowledge of developments within the L&D field (motivational theories, training methodologies, delivery methods, technologies etc).

Team Alignments- Builds effective alignments Management (Ops, Clearance and Brokerage and L&D), together with relevant functional groups, in order to improve understanding of current and evolving business needs. Includes prioritising timing or duration of learning initiatives, giving and seeking feedback, clarification of training related needs/issues etc. Supports L&D in training needs analysis by identifying the point where performance levels show a need for some type of initiative. Performs defined research and analysis.

Training Accreditation - Gains required competency, including teaching certifications when appropriate, typically to cover multiple standard courses involving skills, knowledge and related behavioural training. Uses appropriate tools to maintain knowledge. Participates in the cross training of peers, as required. Note: L&D would be responsible for the certification process of Training Specialists and for the delivery of more ‘complex/sophisticated’ behavioural training.

Planning and Preparation– Develops and recommends schedules for training events that best fit with P&P, operational requirements and constraints. Performs validation checks of existing materials to ensure compliance with latest regulatory or company procedures and standards, organises facilities, equipment and materials. Co-ordinates any communications with management and delegates in order to ensure availability, maximum productivity and customer satisfaction.

Delivery of Learning Solutions - Delivers a range of ILT sessions using approved methods, tools and materials. Maintains focus on the achievement of the specified learning goals, whilst engaging employees in the CE vision and goals. Conducts agreed training evaluations and collates/evaluates actual results for Clearance & Brokerage and L&D management, together with any other feedback (improvement opportunities, employee performance contribution, timing etc).

Coaching and Learning Support - Organises and supports the introduction and use of approved learning tools (CBT, briefing sessions, job-aids). Participates in approved coaching initiatives by providing generic ,or specific skills coaching for new hires and/or employees with development needs. Includes sitting with representatives or using remote monitoring tools to evaluate performance and structure and record competency based feedback using approved tools. Support management with the development of generic and individual PDPs that are correctly focused on the development need.

Development and Validation of Learning Tools - Supports L&D with the analysis of specific training requirements (new regulation, process, automation etc), competency gaps (qualitative, behavioural, knowledge etc). Performs defined research and analysis, which may require liaison with IT, Regulatory Experts and C&B Management for any major regulatory/legislative/system changes. Prepares recommendations for review.

Training Measurement and Reporting – Develops and maintains defined types of records of training related events. Includes using approved processes and tools to provide accurate and timely information relating to the status and measurement of different training solutions. Provides analysis, interpretation and evaluation of employee/ team performance, against training and targets. Includes recommendations for management on potential improvements. Supports L&D in evaluating knowledge transfer and ROI.
