For our Client - major multinational production and distribution company with growing operations sales office in Poland in Warsaw – we are looking for an experienced candidate for the role of Chief Accountant.
Job Description:
The Chief Accountant is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization’s accounting function. This includes everything from regulatory compliance with accounting standards and practices to working with the Finance Director on developing financial action plans to support the business. Position will interact also with Shared Service ensuring maximizing collaboration.
Working on this position, the Candidate will have to:
Ensure that the financial results are properly reported, in accordance both with the statutory, international accounting standards and company’s accounting policies and procedures. Responsibility for accounting and tax clearing of the Company. Creating and publishing the periodic financial statements (monthly, quarterly, yearly) according to the Polish, international accounting standards and company accounting standards. Annual or periodic preparation of Transfer Pricing Documentation. Manage relationships with banks, treasury, Site Finance policies. Ensuring that all transactions are properly recorded, have proper documentation and comply with the company’s control and compliance environment. Keeping of fixed assets records and payroll documentation. Participate in the periodical reviews of the financial statements in cooperation with the local, regional and European management. Keeping of tax records, required registers and tax documents for tax ends. Supervision of the correct flow of the accounting documents inclusive of payroll matters. Collaboration with consultants in tax audits. Installing and developing proper controls in order to maximize the compliance, segregation of duties and other control objectives of the company. Pushing for continuing improvements in the local practices and systems. Managing a mixed team made of local accountants as well as Shared Services inputs. Supporting the Management Team and Departments heads with in depth analysis. Actively lead internal projects to develop the efficiency of the entire organization. Preparation of the local statutory general ledger, tax matters, statutory reporting, internal and external audits, fix assets control, relationships with banks, treasury, transfer price policies, etc.
The successful Candidate should have:
Solid educational background in commercial finance, with a preferred focus on group accounting. Previous exposure to multi-entity accounting and consolidation activities. At least 5 years of working experience in the field. Proven knowledge of the and accounting and tax regulations, both for Poland and for the international accounting standards. Preferred ACCA qualified or student, at least qualification as a Certified Public Accountant. Previous Big4 experience would be a plus. Knowledge of an ERP system. Very good English. SOX and extended compliance competence. Candidate should have a very good knowledge of the trade, economic and tax law, the accounting law plus accounting acting. You should also understands key business drivers and proactively seeks out opportunities. Perfect candidate should promote pro-active attitude with autonomous and reliable personality.
