For our Client, a global financial services leader - Euroclear, we are looking for Chief Accountant of Polish Branch.
As Chief Accountant you will be leading the Accounting department within the newly created Poland Branch of Euroclear Bank. You will report to the Head of Group Finance based in Brussels and have a dotted hierarchical line towards the Polish CEO. Your mission will be to be responsible for the Accounting/Financial activities that will be located in the branch. Key tasks you will be responsible for include managing the different local functional finance domains: being in charge of the regulatory reporting and the local (Finance) obligations towards the regulator (production and filing), validating the monthly actuals of the Branch which are produced by the shared service center in Brussels, validating and filing the corporate tax and VAT returns, being an active player in our relationship with the auditors. You will also participate actively to the periodical forecasting and budgeting exercises, guarantee compliance with Group Finance policies and procedures, providing management reporting on the branch performance (report to the local CEO and the Head of Group Finance, providing ad-hoc reports, leading continuous improvement of Accounting processes).
You will be successful on this position if you are a certified IFRS accountant or can demonstrate a similar competency in by your previous experience(s) in an accounting department (4-6 years), you have experience in working with local regulators and with external auditors, you are familiar with the polish tax regulations, you possess experience in managing a local branch of a broader group, you have a deep understanding of shared service process areas (Accounts Payables / Travel & Entertainment / Contract Management / Accounts Receivables / Credit Control), you are familiar with an ERP system: ideally Oracle ERP, you have a track record of managing change, ideally you have experience in establishing new operations with the ability to attract, retain and motivate people, you are ready to travel to Brussels for short stays every two months, you are fluent in written and spoken English.
