Role Description

For a European HQ in Amsterdam, we are looking for a skillful Associate Director, Commercial Insight & Analytics, Europe.
The main purpose of this position is to be a business consultant to the European business through the provision of customer insights to enable better decision making.

You will predominantly drive the competitive intelligence and market research offering to the European Commercial Teams. In addition you will partner with the reporting / analytics group to deliver best in class data analysis and provide key input where needed to the forecasting group (both functions sitting within the centralised Customer Insights & Analytics Team).

Responsibilities

• Assess the market research needs of the European commercial team(s) that you work with;
• Provide for both the primary and secondary market research needs of the European commercial team(s)
• Provision of competitive intelligence to the European commercial teams in order to inform strategic decisions
• Interpretation of customer insight and translation into actionable recommendations
• Work alongside the both the reporting & analytics and the forecasting groups to:
• Provide accurate and reliable quantitative and qualitative market data according to the needs of the European commercial teams or other stakeholders
• Measure key brand performance metrics in Europe, while adding value through the provision of insight and recommendation
• Input into product forecast through your expert market knowledge
• Play an active role in both short and long term planning processes for the European business
• Acting as a consultant for all aspects of customer insight & analytics across Europe (both regional and local markets where needed)
• Interactions and relationship management with external providers of market data and research providers
• Conduct situational analysis for the relevant European commercial teams ensuring a comprehensive view-point is taken to uncover gaps in knowledge
• Act as an ambassador for the Customer Insights & Analytics Team to the wider business

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in market research and / or competitive intelligence (preferably from pharma/FMCG/consumer goods industries)
• A university degree (a minimum of BSc) in Finance, Business, Commerce or equivalent education
• Fluency in English, both oral and written
• Experience in Pharmaceutical headquarters or at country level
• Strong aptitude for figures and data crunching
• Experience and high level of skill in interpretation and analyses of secondary data (sales, patient data and business development)
• Accuracy and high level of attention to details
• Organization and time management skills
• Dynamic, pro-active and flexible personality
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Strategic thinking
• Business acumen
• High level of skill in using business software applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint
• Willing to travel abroad (20 – 35%)
