Tooling SME & Configuration Expert

Resposibilities:

The Commercial Banking (CMB) Data & Analytics IT team is responsible for both the definition of the data management & analytics strategy, as well as the design & delivery of data solutions for consumption by the Global Commercial Business. Current departmental projects include, among others, Implementation of a modern analytics platform underpinned by both on & off-premises big data environments. The department is committed to the production of high-quality enterprise-grade software. This makes CMB Data & Analytics IT a dynamic, challenging and rewarding place to work. The purpose of the role is to provide an excellent vision, consultancy, product enhancement recommendations & perform configurations on the suite of analytics tools used in CMB. The Tooling SME will support the Agile pod Product Owner with recommendations on how to improve and optimize analytical products with functional and non-functional features. In addition, the SME is expected to assist in the delivery of agreed prioritised enhancements proactively supporting project manager and other team members.

Key Accountabilities will be:

Taking part in the projects from the commercial banking area to deliver actionable business information

Delivering installation and configuration enhancements on tooling/environments to ensure top performance of various analytics toolsets in line with expected project targets and timelines

Working closely with various stakeholders located across the world to consult on the toolset and take and provide feedback on the tooling implementation

Working closely with the Product Owner assisting with the prioritization of backlog work items

Helping with continuous improvement (making sure retrospective action points are implemented)

Building and maintaining good working relationship with all the internal and external team members providing excellent customer service and forging partnership relationships

Required:

Is capable of leveraging her/ his extensive technical experience of analytics products – usage of tools as well knowledge on how to install, configure for best performance and modify the product to a roadmap

Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. High complexity, high data volumes, dynamic.

Perform or support data quantitative and qualitative analysis. Understanding of using relational and unrelational databases

Perform or have a knowledge about extracting, importing, and exporting of data - ETL (extract, transform, load)

Participate in validating data, development, implementation, testing activities

Understanding data modelling - keeping data in structured format, conceptual, logical and physical data modelling

Research and collect data to assist with product development and analysis

Assist in preparation of reports, training materials, business presentations, publications, marketing collaterals, and other educational materials.

Ability to work under pressure, find logical solutions to problems and produce work unsupervised.

Understanding of customers' needs and delivering excellent customer service

A flexible and adaptable approach to change and will support others to respond in a similar way

Achieving targets and meeting expectations whilst supporting and encouraging others to do the same

Supporting others' performance, enabling them to achieve by providing clear direction, motivation and support

Experience in Agile/ DevOps environment and in assisting in production support

A strong customer focused approach to delivery

Though the below items are not essential, having several of them would be useful:

A thorough knowledge of the market of the analytical tool market and the alternative vendor/open source offerings products

Solid understanding of Big Data and Cloud technologies

Has a solid practical, commercial experience with relevant development languages and frameworks like SQL, Python, Scala, Spark

Familiarity with various operating systems: Linux/Unix, Windows

Awareness of master data management patterns and principles.

Knowledge of IBM’s Infosphere Information Server and IBM’s Master Data Management platform.

Some experience with Big Data (Hadoop) principles.

Experience of agile software development projects.

Some project management experience.

Knowledge of sound application integration patterns.
