• Review technical requirements/specifications
• Review system architecture to determine appropriate test points
• Identify appropriate testing required
• Test scheduling
• Provide test advice
• Performance testing
• Load testing
• Automation
• Identify and provide/arrange necessary training to business or test groups
• Ensure adherence to agreed Test Strategy, Plan and project schedules
• Potential writing of custom test solutions (test harnesses, SQL scripts etc.)
• Analyse and report on test results
• Excellent relationship/stakeholder management skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to make decisions and be accountable for decisions and actions
• Strong attention to detail
• Effective planning and organisation skills
• Copes well under pressure and with uncertainty
• Flexible and adaptable in the face of changing priorities or circumstances
• Drives for results
• Problem solving ability
• Familiarity with contemporary performance test tools
• Familiarity with contemporary load/stress testing tools
• Test automation (Selenium, Cucumber)
• Some SQL skills/knowledge
• Understanding of systems and architecture (DB's, Servers, Networks etc.) is a bonus
• Knowledge of XML/HTML or similar markup languages
• Good general IT knowledge
Experience Required
• Experience in test automation 1 year +
• Experience in software testing 3 years +

The med-level technical tester may act in a specialist technical role or general consulting role with a focus on identifying technical test solutions. These solutions may relate to areas of testing such as system integration, system or non-functional type testing. Functional testing is also part of your activities.Role Description
