- Acts as and is regarded as an SME authority for Database Administration, be assigned for Oracle/MSSQL services
- Supports the management and optimization of service delivery for IS Database Hosting Services
- Initiates proactive and reactive service improvements to ensure the quality of operational processes
- Accountable for managing the technical quality, maintainability of infrastructure
- Controls system functionality, optimization of infrastructure/application performance and operational services, according to agreed service levels (capacity, availability and performance)
- Conveys architecture, standards, policies, norms, and guidelines
- Responsible for assessing and providing recommendations relating to trend analyses of incidents; Responsible for validation of problem suggestions and recommending prioritization if applicable
- Conducts IS impact analyses of requests for change in view of architecture, technical quality and maintainability of infrastructure
- Creates and/or approves technical specifications for changes based on functional as well as non-functional requirements and functional specifications
- Accepts/rejects change deliverables including deployments based on technical specifications
- All applicants should ensure that they understand and are capable of meeting the accountabilities listed in the ‘tasks’ section for this position
- Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related
- At least 5 years of experience (with commercial experience with managing IT Infrastructure – Oracle Database technologies)
- Previous experience with managing supplier performance would be a plus
- Fluent English
- Excellent knowledge of Oracle Database technologies on different platforms(x86, P Series) and OS (Microsoft, Linux, AIX) – Versions 10.x and 11.x, 12.x in plus with Excellent knowledge in database design
- Good knowledge of Oracle DB related products (ODM, OLAP,RAC)
- Strong experience with Oracle Suites and tools relating to implementation of Oracle DB (OAS, OCS, OEM)
- Hands-on experience with Oracle DB Tuning and troubleshooting
- Working knowledge of MS Database technologies (MS SQL 2005 to 2012, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS)
- Knowledge of Business Intelligence features in MS SQL
- Experience with ETL, T-SQL, SQL querying, SQL scripting
