SQL Server/Sybase DBA
Location: KrakowWe are a global function of over 2,500 people, and are part of the wider Infrastructure Delivery organisation.
We work in partnership with the Infrastructure Architecture Function to set the vision and roadmap for all technologies across Infrastructure Delivery and to deliver Service designs in support of business IT programmes.
We can categorize Enterprise Services in the following key areas:
- Platform services. Where we securely store and analyse customer and transaction data in accordance with compliance and standards. This includes technologies such as mainframes, UNIX and Linux servers, iSeries (Mid-range), Windows and storage. As well as technologies such as Java application servers, databases and messaging services.
- Developer Services which allow our customers faster delivery of highly standardised platform services, for example, Virtualisation, ALM, Dev Engineering, GSDE, private cloud
- We also run some important programmes, most notably, our Service Change Lifecycle Programme, will be delivering benefits in the way we work with you in the business to estimate, plan and deliver the work effectively.
The role holder will be in charge to manage production and development environments, audit, security and evergreening project for critical application used by several business.
Global IT Infrastructure guarantees the daily operation of all production, development and pre-production systems. Collaborative work with the security Team regarding the security standards, access and rights management.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Rigor, curiosity, good analytical skills and adaptation.
- Provide support for production Sybase and SQL Server environments.
- Be able to investigate and fix software and infrastructure issues.
- Audit & Security: Follow and implement company rules
- Ability to work in critical production environments (on calls)
- Good communication skills with IT teams and business users, from different cultures and languages.
- Team spirit, autonomy in daily work and motivation are essential
SKILLS
MUST
Minimum 5 years overall IT experience with 2 - 3 years of experience working with SYBASE administration
Commercial experience with RHEL administration
Practical experience with Shell scripting and/or powershell
Capable of building VCS clusters
Previous experience working with SQL servers
NICE TO HAVE
Experience working in a regulated banking/financial environment.
