Solutions Architect

Project scope:

• Set standards in the scope of design, development, quality, and testing
• Design and communicates system architecture
• Design interoperability and interfaces with other systems
• Elicit needs, analyses requirements
• Transfer business, users, and technical needs into architectures
• Map business goals, project benefits, priorities, components, system features
• Analyze available systems
• Identify options for potential solutions
• Maintain and track architecture in systems lifecycle
• Estimate and size software development works
• Contribute to systems design, testing, quality assurance, change management
• Prepare system documentation and provides presentations
• Lead development teams and development processes
• Select and evaluates technologies
• Collect and interprets system metrics
• Optimize the system from performance, security, and quality points of view

Competence demands:

• Hold a master-level certificate in a software development technology domain or in architecting software solutions
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in architecting software systems
• Perform the role of the key architect in the development of at least 2 software systems
• Excellent command of English
• Expert in designing enterprise-level software systems
• Expert in planning capacity and security of the systems
• Very good technical knowledge about databases, application servers, communication middleware, web servers, GIS services, directory services, systems security on Microsoft platforms, business intelligence concepts, systems integration, and Integrated Development Environments
• Expert in designing in UML
• Expert in software development methodologies, lifecycles and artefacts like RUP, ISO12207 and Agile methodologies
• Proficient in using systems modelling tools like Sparx Enterprise Architect, Aris Architect or others 
• Present excellent communication, problem-solving and leadership skills
• Ability to document effectively

Specific requirements:

• Participation in the role of Solutions Architect in a project aimed at analysis, design, implementation, and deployment of ICT Solution that was part of or was querying Schengen Information System (so-called SIS Related project)
• Participation in the role of Solutions Architect in a project aimed at analysis, design, implementation, and deployment of ICT Solution that enabled scanning fingerprints using NIST format or scanning documents that have MRZ, e.g. passports, national IDs, driving license, visa stickers, residence permit or scanning biometric documents that have RFID chip data, e.g. passports, national ID
• Participation in the role of Solutions Architect in the project aimed at analysis, design, implementation and deployment of ICT Solution where Web Services were used as the main way of information exchange
• Knowledge/experience in the area of Data Privacy, Data Protection Impact Assessments, and Information Security Risk Assessment in the environment of EU Institutions, understands its challenges and methods for conducting effective analysis
