We are working as a recruitment provider searching on our Client's behalf for a person in the following role:
Solutions Architect
Key Accountabilities:
Understanding the product requirements - help analysing the requirements and identify key architecturally significant use cases;
Manage the relationship between business and external/internal IT services;
Trusted advisor to both business and IT stakeholders;
Formulating the end to end solution design - creating a solution structure which will meet the various requirements, balancing the goals and constraints on the solution;
Communicating the architecture - making sure that everyone understands the architecture;
Supporting the developers – making sure that the developers are able to realise the architecture;
Verifying the implementation – ensuring the delivered system is consistent with the agreed architecture, and will meet the requirements;
Ensuring all Architectural documentation and governance is completed in an appropriate and timely manner;
Provide innovative and practical designs that accounts for the end-to-end solution of a function that is in line with the business objectives;
Experience of optimizing complex systems and working with business to solve problems using technology;
Experience of 'owning' the design of a major/large component of an application or software architecture;
Re-use of architectural artefacts like business services, APIs, and functions;
Ensure solutions adhere to common standards;
Direct or indirect involvement in the development of policies, standards and guidelines that direct the selection, development, implementation and use of processes and technologies.
Requirements:
Ability to breakdown and explain complex technical solutions to audiences with varying degrees of knowledge and technical capabilities;
Practitioner of agile methodologies;
API design knowledge i.e. REST and standards like JSON;
Technical understanding of Databases, Messaging Queues, and Caching technologies;
Experience with scalable web services and databases;
Implementation knowledge of NoSQL databases, including scaling and high availability;
Knowledge of any authentication protocols like oAuth, SAML, OpenID;
Good understanding of 12-factor applications;
Excellent presentation skills – Preparing and delivering high level architectural solutions to senior executives;
Ability to work independently and without supervision;
Experience in building distributed / service oriented / micro services style and cloud based architectures;
Design and architecture experience in cloud (Azure or AWS).
