Software Packager
Location: WrocławJob Description
Summary:
Candidate for Software Packager will assume a technical role and will participate in project assessment, software packaging, custom scripting, pilot testing, user acceptance and communication, and remediation activities associated with large scale software deployments.
Candidate will interface with other team members to ensure all technical aspects of the deployment have been accounted for in order to minimize risk to IT infrastructure. He will help solve complex technical issues and develop customized solutions in deploying software applications to a diverse workstation environment.
Responsibilities:
- Creation of Installers/Install Wrapper Scripts and customization of vendor Installers
- Creation, testing and publishing of software packages.
- Resolve software deployment and other problems related to software installation and use.
- Create technical end-user documentation on problem resolution.
- Advise Customer about best solutions for installation and configuration of application
- Perform enterprise application discovery with experienced developers and inexperienced requestors to obtain requirements, settings and preferences
- Provide training and mentoring (formal and informal) to personnel on how to resolve technical issues.
- Provide status reports to the lead worker or supervisor as requested.
- Deliver project documents as needed (e.g. status reports, technical documentation, procedural documentation).
- Troubleshooting on customer environment concerning installers and applications
Required skills:
- Knowledge and experience of applications and drivers installation under Windows Operating system.
- Windows Installer (MSI,MST,MSP)
- Scripting (PowerShell, VBS, Batch/CMD, HTA)
- Virtualization of application (AppV 5.1)
- Strong knowledge of Windows 7, 8.1, 10 operating system (registry, services, drivers, variables, GPO)
- Ability to work as individual as well as oriented to teamwork
- Attention to detail
- Languages: highly proficient in spoken and written English
Additional skills:
- Knowledge of tools used for mass deployment of applications (mainly SCCM).
- Knowledge of Active Directory & Group Policy Management.
- Knowledge of application virtualization.
- Knowledge and skills related to other technologies and tools of application virtualization, scripting, Mobile Devices Management will be welcome.
