For our location in Gdansk we are looking for a:

Software Asset Manager

Responsibilties and tasks:

  • Manage the IT Software asset portfolio with respect to risk, cost control, governance, compliance, and performance objectives.
  • Develop and maintain company policies, roles and processes related to Software & Licensing. Create and maintain a company-wide understanding of licence management.
  • Optimise usage and cost of IT Software, License and Cloud deployments.
  • Embed a formal software asset management framework for all relevant software including driving compliance across the software estate.
  • Serve as IT Software asset management subject matter expert and provide recommendations for risk and cost avoidance.
  • Ensure knowledge of software regulations is kept current.
  • Direct cooperation with Global Procurement CCM IT team as internal customer.
  • Cooperation with process related HL internal functions: IT, all functional departments as software licensees.
  • Responsibility to manage the Hapag-Lloyd Software asset portfolio in terms of risk, control, governance, compliance and performance objectives
  • Responsibility to provide regular reports on the current status of HL's software asset portfolio.
  • Responsibility to advise on risks and cost avoidance opportunities
  • Responsibility and authority to implement approved initiatives throughout the HL organization to achieve the objectives of the position.

Other than that, you will be responsible for:

  • Direct cooperation with Global Procurement CCM IT team as internal customer.
  • Responsibility for document relevant software license information and regulations and to obtain relevant information from all HL departments.
  • Prepare regular reports on HL’s software asset management situation
  • Implement appropriate strategies to achieve position objectives
  • Preparing regular reports on
    • Current status of HL's software asset portfolio
    • HL’s licensing situation
    • KPI's
    • True-ups by licensors (comparison of licensing with current usage) of the products.
  • Ensuring knowledge of software regulations is kept current

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Master degree, preferably in business administration, supply chain management or computer science.
  • Preferably experience related to Software asset management (e.g. IAITAM, CSAM or equivalent, Microsoft MCP) plus ITIL V3 foundation.
  • At least 5 years of experience with IT Software Asset management
  • Experience with asset management tools (e.g. SNOW, Flexera, SCCM)
  • Preferably experience in the implementation of a SAM organization
  • Solid experience in contract negotiation and management.
  • Demonstrated experience in analysing and presenting data to management.
  • SAP knowledge
  • MS Office knowledge
  • Good command of English, German is a plus
