Your new role
The Service Delivery Manager is responsible, on behalf of the CIO for ensuring that all services are in support or remediated ahead of the end of support date. They own the delivery of change including budget management, resources assigned to SDM and data integrity for the Service line. The role requires effective co-ordination of the SSP programme’s projects and management of their inter-dependencies including oversight of any risks and issues arising, and maintains responsibility for the overall integrity and coherence of the programme.

Your new role
The Service Delivery Manager is responsible, on behalf of the CIO for ensuring that all services are in support or remediated ahead of the end of support date. They own the delivery of change including budget management, resources assigned to SDM and data integrity for the Service line. The role requires effective co-ordination of the SSP programme’s projects and management of their inter-dependencies including oversight of any risks and issues arising, and maintains responsibility for the overall integrity and coherence of the programme.
Know Your Services
- Know the totality of your estate and take responsibility for your estates remediation
- Know which service are going out of support when – Review a 12/18 month rolling look ahead
- Understand the change horizon of your services for example, is a service due to demise in the same year remediation is required
Remediation Management & Reporting
- Using confluence and other measures, proactively monitor the programmes’ progress, resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective action Ensure effective quality assurance and the overall integrity of the programme - focusing inwardly on the internal consistency of the programme, and outwardly on its coherence with infrastructure planning, interfaces with other programmes and corporate, technical and specialist standards
- Ensuring there is allocation of common resources and skills within the programme's individual projects
- Manage third party vendor relation and contributions to the programme (if appropriate)
- Manage communications with all stakeholders
- Manage risks to the programme's successful outcome
- All remediation should be planned to complete before any service technology go out of support, where this is at risk, appropriate actions are taken.
- Updating the relevant tooling applications regularly to demonstrate progress and keep integrity balanced
Review, Plan & Prioritise
- Review and plan remediation (or alternative actions) based on the FIM Priority Policy/Risk Based Approach
- Manage dependencies across the portfolio
Cost Management & Reporting
- Manage the programme's budget on behalf of the CIO, monitoring expenditure and costs
- Review potential budget issue and always focus on more efficient ways to mitigate risks
- Review actuals each month and update forecasts (each month this should be a minimum percentage of variance)
- Ensure any cost related issue are proactively highlighted to SDM Programme
Remediation Management & Reporting

- Report potential Service Risks where remediation dates will not be achieved and before the service goes out of support
- Work with allocated CCO on logging and managing actions related to risks
- Ensuring all stakeholders are aware of risks to remediation and your actions in mitigation of this
What you'll need to succeed
- Ability to distil complex and varied data into information combined with excellent communication skills in order to present back to key stakeholders
- Excellent process analysis, problem solving and Project management skills\
- Ability to build relationships by communicating, influencing and negotiating effectively with business heads, senior managers, third party consultants
- Self-motivation, and a proven rapid learning capability in a changing matrixed environment
- Previous experience in a Project Management type role
