Our client is a professional Food organization, based in Waals-Brabant Belgium. This company has the HQ in Brussels, this position is mainly based in Andenne but some presence (2 times a week) in Brussels is required.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

Lead the enzymes innovation and up scaling team to add new, differentiating and high value creating enzymes into the portfolio on key areas: Bakery, patisserie and Chocolate.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Your challenge as Senior Research R&D Manager is to manage an important and innovative business unit at our plant in Andenne. As a senior research R&D manager, you are part of several multidisciplinary teams and because of your expertise in enzymes and fermentation, you help solving product development issues.

You provide input for improving processes and advises on different levels within the expertise center. Our client is working with state of the Art techniques From your expertise and seniority, you act as a sound board within the team and send you were necessary. You know how to inspire and motivate people to get the best out of themselves. As a senior Research R & D manager, you have an extensive scientific network and know how to use it in terms of development and growth of colleagues and the business unit as a whole. You are jointly responsible for the development and upscaling of genetic engineering and translate this technology into production. You play an important role in the strategic choices within the business unit.

REQUIREMENTS

- To create vision and strategy on how to create discover, produce in a suitable host, with the state of the art genetic tools and with performing fermentation technology and downstream to succeed in the mission.
- Managing the project teams and create synergy between different project teams
- Act as a clear contact point within the business unit for organizational issues
- To implement and develop the methodologies used to accelerate and streamline projects
- You acquire new knowledge within the business unit from your expertise and existing scientific network
- You guarantee the professionalism and innovative drive within the business unit, you have experience with the stage gate model
- Bring expertise and support for enzyme analysis

OTHER

Technological Skills

- Expertise in the enzymology domain : techniques related to isolation, characterization, structure
- function analysis and enzyme functions and mechanisms itself.
- Know-how in molecular biology and techniques related to genetics
- Know-how in fermentation process
- Technology savvy , interested in newest technological developments inside and outside of the field
