Responsibilities:
- Responsibility for acquiring, acquiring and employing candidates for vacant positions, ensuring that the needs of Clients / Principals are met by finding candidates who meet their requirements and open positions.
- Supports the design, implementation and delivery of a comprehensive recruitment strategy for your deck / engine including sourcing, interviews, evaluation and selection.
- Maintains contact with regional officers and crew on leave; Keeping the contact manager up to date, crew availability, validity of documents and certificates, training needs, US visa availability and validity, MCV and any other information that may be necessary for planned crew deployment in accordance with Company procedures.
- Sends compliant officers' proposals to the crew team and ensures that medical examinations, training, flag state organization and travel, including visas, are carried out promptly.
- Ensures COE is issued and seafarers released to crew are fully complied with.
- Responsible for acquiring senior ranks, ie Masters and Chief Officer in accordance with crew requirements, and supporting activities related to recruiting recruiters for the on-board / engine department.
- Develops contacts and maintains positive relations with various maritime authorities and embassies / consuls in the region.
What do you need to be successful?
- Previous sourcing experience for the marine / manned area.
- Thorough knowledge of ship hierarchy, responsibilities, basic job description and certification requirements for officers and seafarers in accordance with MLC 2006, STCW 2010
- Working knowledge of various flag State requirements, including knowledge of procedures for obtaining a flag State CEC.
- Knowledge of the ITF's organizational structure and its relationship with the various affiliated (seafaring) trade unions as well as all procedural requirements necessary to obtain the Blue Certificate. Knowledge of the applicable conditions of service and the structure of seafarers' wages.
- A confident communicator with a very strong command of the English language is a must (orally and in writing)
