At the moment we are looking for:

- Turning requirements into a detailed design and delivering to committed timescales with suitable testing
- Building and deploying applications on Linux platforms
- Technical projects within Equities and Security Services Technology
- Moving the current C++ / Oracle based Data platform to a cloud-native Clojure based platform leveraging contemporary NoSQL storage
- Excellent development skills in Java
- Strong functional programming skills in a JVM based language (Clojure / Scala)
- Experience of NoSQL Big Data platforms
Sound understanding of design patterns and system architecture - Experience of TDD and/or BDD methodologies
- Agile development experience
- Ability to enforce standards for software development: continuous integration, testing and deployment, information security, software quality and controls.
- Excellent academic record, degree level minimum - preferably Science, Technology, Mathematics or Engineering (flexible based on experience)
- Pro-active and dynamic individual who is able to work under pressure in a front-office technology environment
Desirable Skills
- Experience of contemporary distributed event processing platforms (Storm / Samza / Akka)
- Experience with Oracle development including stored procedures, partitions, optimisation techniques
- Experience of C++ / C# / Python
- Experience with Confluence, JIRA, GIT and/or Bitbucket
- Experience of working in a Front Office environment / Financial Instruments
