RFQ Design Engineer

For our Client – an international production company, we are looking for the best Candidate for the position:
Design Engineer (R&D)
Scope of duties:
The purpose of the job is to provide Slidegate and Purging Systems Refractory Engineering design services and technical information for end users on a global basis. This includes the design of refractory assemblies requested by Sales via the RFQ process, collaboration with the materials R&D group on refractory strategies and the design of trial assemblies utilizing the latest R&D materials for lab and field evaluations. The position will utilize the data management system used with the department’s CAD software, JDE ERP software, analytical CAE tools and Lotus Notes Databases.
The position will also support NPI (New Product Introduction) and other special refractory design projects on a global basis under the direction of R&D, Enabling Technologies, or other groups influencing the sales of new technology products and improving our design for function
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience at the similar position
- Mechanical Engineering (or related) degree
- 3D experience with modeling and creating manufacturing prints from the models will be an asset. SolidWorks software is preferred.
- Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Positive attitude with a demonstrated ability to participate in and contribute to a collaborative productive team environment
- Creative and innovative in approach with the ability to work unsupervised and to tight deadlines
- Technical writing and documentation
- Willingness and ability to travel on a regional and global basis
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- FEA and/or programming experience is a bonus
