R&D Electrospinning Engineer
Location: NetherlandsSIRE Life Sciences® is the market leader in life science recruitment. We believe the recruitment market needs to gear up in technology and continues innovation. We like technology, in a life science market driven on science, we couldn’t stay behind; we drive Recruitment Science. Investing a majority of our turnover in technology enables us to use unique Resource Technologies. By using highly advanced algorithms, we enable our team of Resource & Data Strategists© to maintain the most advanced, detailed and complete Life Sciences network in Europe. This big data enables us to work Reverse Recruitment©: we first analyze the market in-depth before we go out to the market. Because we analyze the whole market, we can compare facts and data. This enables us to do Facts & Big Data Recruitment©, making sure we, or better yet, you find the right career!
THE COMPANY
Our client is a professional Medical Devices organization, based in Noord-Brabant Netherlands.
Bioresorbable, polymer-based technology is designed to allow for the natural restoration of heart valve function via endogenous tissue restoration (ETR). After the valve is implanted, the body develops tissue inside and around the device, forming a natural and fully functional valve within it, the company says. As the new valve heals, the implant is gradually absorbed into the body.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
Minimum 2 years of development experience in the industry, preferably in a fast-pace (e.g. start-up) and highly regulated (e.g. medical device) environment. To elaborate, with 'development experience', we mean experience in developing either a product or manufacturing process as an engineer. Ideally this would be combined with the electrospinning experience (e.g. developing, i.e. building or adapting an electrospinning machine for a new product), but at least both experiences (electrospinning + product/process development) need to be present. Academic experience only doesn't qualify for this.
As one of the electrospinning experts in our engineering team, you’ll drive various projects in product and process development.
These projects could aim to improve product quality, to make our manufacturing process more scalable - or to develop completely new applications and extend our product portfolio.
Your vision on electrospinning enables you to develop new applications and manufacturing processes from scratch. As a leader, you’ll bring these ideas from proof-of-concept to best-practice.
You can quickly shift from break-through innovation to hands-on troubleshooting.
You’re keen to share your knowledge, and will leverage your electrospinning expertise by training colleague engineers and technicians.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Hands-on experience with and fundamental knowledge of electrospinning
Technical degree in engineering, natural sciences, or equivalent, e.g. mechanical or biomedical engineering
Minimum 2 years of development experience in the industry, preferably in a fast-pace (e.g. start-up) and highly regulated (e.g. medical device) environment
Able to connect theory and practice, and quickly shift from highly conceptual to very practical and back.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience with process validations
Comfortable with data and statistics
