HCL Social Care is the UK’s leading recruiter for social care professionals. We are currently working in partnership with a local authority in North West London that is looking for social workers who know that the role involves developing and maintaining good quality professional relationships with children and their families. They are looking for skilled socia workers who are prepared to commit to working in this way. Our client understand that the work of a social worker can be demanding and that effective social workers need manageable case loads, good supervision and a real break from the work from time to time.

 

Our client is looking for candidates with experience of:

  • Working with children and young people who are subject to Child Protection Plans and Care Proceedings
  • Ensuring that children are kept safe in the family environment; which will include undertaking assessments and ensuring any Child Protection Plans are robust and being actively progressed
  • Practicing social work accountably, within the prevailing legislative framework and council policies and procedures, under the supervision of the Assistant Team Manager
  • Ensuring that all work is completed within the stated timescales in accordance with both national and local policy
  • Managing a mixed caseload, including challenging cases that involve vulnerable children and families with complex problems
  • Undertaking safeguarding investigations, attend strategy meetings, case conferences and reviews as required, and if appropriate perform the lead professional role.
